AS YOU SOW SO SHALL YOU REAP⁣

Roger Hallam is not here to be liked. He's also on remand since November for committing the crime of giving a speech (recorded by a Sun reporter). Today is his bail hearing.⁣

We're not here to pass judgment on all his actions. Though the courts have and will again. His words have landed him in prison and sparked some of the most active civil disobedience groups taking action on the climate emergency in the Western world. ⁣

Rising up, Divest King's, Stop killing Londoners, Vote No, Heathrow Hunger strike, Extinction Rebellion, Heathrow Pause, Burning Pink, Insulate Britain, Youth Climate Swarm, Just Stop Oil, the A22 network and more. Over 1000 people have faced arrest, remand, trials, and prison for their words and actions as part of these groups in the last year alone. ⁣

GLASS HOUSE GASSES

Climate activists: got their faces splashed in the press, attacked by climate skeptic media, compared to terrorists by art critics and publicly told off by 92 art museum directors. Why? For throwing soup on the painting Sunflowers by Van Gogh as a call for action on climate justice as billions of lives at risk. The painting remained undamaged and on display as it was protected by glass.

Art collector: irreversibly destroyed the sculpture Balloon Dog (Blue) by Koons, by being drunk at an opening or trying to see if it was a real balloon. Who? Why? Their identity has been protected in the press by curators and gallery directors, and no motive ever announced.

Hypocrisy much, art world and media?
